What's bringing you joy at the moment?
Today we want to challenge you to think about five things that are bringing you joy at the moment. Think of it as an exercise of gratitude. Grab a journal and write down what those things are and why you are thankful for them. Use this as a chance to pray and thank God for the small things we can celebrate in everyday life.
Here's what I've come up with...
My housemates - They have been one of the most important things in getting me through this time of lockdown and I am HUGELY thankful for all that they add to my life.
Food - I'm sure my Grandma would be pleased to hear this, but food has been a real pick-me-up on the days when things have been a little tough. I am thankful that I have food to eat, and can spend time cooking. (chocolate covered rice cakes are a fave of mine. Tom 2 hates it when I eat them in the office, so this is for you!)
Candles - Not just any candles, but these scented ones are the best thing EVER! They smell like I've been sat outdoors all day by the sea next to a glorious bonfire. This reminds me of past memories doing just that, and how grateful I'll be when I can do it again.
Bible - This thing right here is the source of the biggest encouragement in a time like this. The Psalms in particular have been a reminder that when times are tough its okay to cry out to God. I'm thankful for a God who hears my prayers.
Plants - You may have heard that crazy plant ladies are the new crazy cat ladies, but I am fully here for it. My collection of houseplants, cacti and succulents are one of my favourite things in life, and they always seem to bring me joy, and for that I am thankful.
