Hello everyone,

My name is Célia. I am 20 years old and on this Testimony Tuesday, I am going to give you a little snippet of why I put all my trust in God.

So, let’s jump back in September 2018. After a lovely summer back home in France I came back to England with a letter saying that I was not accepted into my second year of sixth form from lack of good grades. In a way I was devastated, as I had worked really hard, I was spending nights in the library, I was not spending time with my family and even stopped seeing my friends as much. However, it was just not enough. Knowing I couldn't go back to school, meant I felt very lost and confused. What was I going to do now? What is my future going to look like?

I told myself that I couldn’t give up on school just because I failed something that was not my way of learning. I had to find the best way for me to learn, so decided to look in a different direction: apprenticeship or college. College in my eyes looked a lot like the same way of learning in sixth form: sitting down, exams etc. Lets just say that was not my cup of tea. So I started to look into apprenticeships and push myself towards the things that I like more, which was helping others and children.

This chapter of my life was extremely hard, it was a horrible time to look for an apprenticeship in the middle of September. After applying everywhere I had a lot of rejections. I ended up being discouraged and started working at my old job as a waitress. However, God spoke to me and told me to not give up, but to keep looking for the right thing for me, which is what I did. I spent hours applying for different nurseries and schools again. I decided to truly trust God. I prayed for him to tell me exactly what he wanted me to do and how he wanted to me to be a great disciple. I was praying day and night putting all my trust in him.

Proverbs 3:5 -”Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

God answered my prayers.

By November I had an email back saying that I could possibly get an interview in the following weeks, I was about to respond saying that I can be free whenever from now and that I would be ready for my interview. At this point I was so desperate, that this nursery was an hour away and hard access from my house, but trusted the Lord with it. As I was about to reply to the job application my WiFi decided to stop working. I was really frustrated as I really needed to answer this email before I lost my shot. I decided to call a friend and prayed immediately as the WiFi really did not cooperate with me. We asked God that I would not lose my shot at this.

Little did I know that God had the perfect plan for me already.

Psalm 112:7 -”He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.”

The phone rang a few moments later, it was another nursery offering me an interview the next day. They were pretty happy with my application and almost willing to give me the job right on the spot. I was amazed, I couldn't keep my excitement in, I was screaming 'FINALLY!', and started to praise God. Right at that moment I made a promise to God: That I would never doubt my situations and would always trust God at different chapters of my life.

Today, I want to encourage you to spend a moment with God and give him all your worries as little as they seem. Every single one of them, lay it all on the table. It feels good to know that God hears our prayers. That he will give us the courage to go past fears and uncomfortable situations that we feel we are not getting out of. God is your friend, make him your best friend even. Do not feel afraid to talk to him, he is here to listen and to help you go through those hard times. As soon as you are worried about something pray about it, don’t spend any time worrying and feeling scared, because he is there constantly guarding you and loving you. Don’t ever forget how precious he thinks you are.

1 John 5:15 - "And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him."

Célia :)
